New hires must fill out several key human resources (HR) documents before they can begin work. They will complete this task with the Department’s HR Consultant. This will require an appointment with the Consultant, who will likely schedule it via email. Obviously the new hire must make every effort to accommodate the HR Consultant’s schedule.

New hires must bring a few documents to this meeting:

I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Documents

Make sure the new hire has all the necessary verification documents before attempting to complete the paperwork with a HR Consultant. Click the attached list of acceptable documents. The new hire will need to know her social security number.

Voided Check

The new hire will also need to bring a voided check to facilitate her pay being directly deposited to her checking account. To void a check, write “VOID” in blue or black ink on the payee line, in the payment amount box, and on the signature line. The nine-digit routing number and the checking account number can both be found on the bottom of the check.
