How can I gain access via my computer to files on the server of the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics?

As of May 2024, the best way to gain access to the departmental server is to have the lab manager request it of either Brian Leonard, bcleonard@med.unc.edu, or Rob Haith, haithr@med.unc.edu.

If that does not immediately work, the lab manager must visit the School of Medicine’s Information Technology webpage help form. There, the lab manager will submit a request for permission to be granted on your behalf, which will require your PID, ONYEN, and UNC email address.

As access is granted, you may be given a few simple steps you must follow to map the network drive to your computer. That way, the network will be readily accessible to you.
