Location
The department’s liquid nitrogen tanks are located across from Room 3082, where the garbage autoclave is located on the third floor of the Genetic Medicine Building (GMB).
Record of Use
When dispensing liquid nitrogen, always record this on the log sheets on a clipboard located on top of or near the tanks. The department uses these logs for billing purposes.
Placing an Order
If there is a low amount of liquid nitrogen left in the tank, please submit a reorder request. You can do so via the departmental website. (If the link is broken, navigate to the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics’ website, and click the Surplus, Equipment, or Facilities link at the bottom of the main page.) Under Requested Services select the Facilities checkbox. Make your request for more liquid nitrogen in the Comments section, including the empty tank number, which is found on a small label stuck on the tank.
After placing the request, please leave a note on the tank with your name, date, and time indicating that the replacement request has been submitted to the office. This prevents duplicated requests.
