Conference Room 3007

This the department’s large, centrally located conference room. To use its overhead projector:

  1. Connect your laptop to one of the dark grey VGA cables by the podium. “Computer 1” cable can reach to the table. “Computer 2” cable can reach to the podium. Mac users, please bring your own VGA-to-Thunderbolt adapter. There is a VGA-to-HDMI cable, however it will not work for Macs.
  2. Turn on the projector using the control panel on the wall to the right of the screen by pressing the ON button.
  3. Press the PC 1 or PC 2 button that corresponds to the VGA cable that is now connected to your laptop. Computer 1 cable (table) connects to the PC 1 button and Computer 2 cable (podium) to the PC 2 button.
  4. On your laptop, you may need to press a combination of the Function key and the corresponding number key to activate the VGA port to see the image on the screen.
  5. To align the screen image, press the AUTO IMAGE button on the control panel next to the screen.
  6. When you are done, turn off the projector using the control panel next to the screen by simply pressing the OFF button. Double check that the projector is turned off! The light underneath the projector will be orange. This is crucial in helping to preserve the life of the lamp in the projector, which is very costly to replace.

Conference Rooms 3009, 3081 and 3095

These conference rooms have TV screens with a VGA cable available for connecting to computers. This cable can be connected directly to your laptop if it has the appropriate port. The TV also has HDMI inputs but you will need to provide your own HDMI cable. Mac users, please bring your own VGA-to-Thunderbolt adapter.
